I've heard from countless DIY'ers and designers alike - launching a site means endless to-do lists and ever-looming deadlines. And the very real fear that you might just forget the most important things and screw up your launch.
That's why I've created the Minima Guide to Launching Your Website.
This easy-to-read guide covers the critical parts you can't afford to mess up.
The Minima Guide to Launching Your Website provides you with the insights, tools, and checklists that I've developed and refined over the last 15 years of launching and managing hundreds of websites.
This 81 page digital guidebook features 11 distinct chapters with content specific checklists to cover every feature of your site.
Whether you’re working on a brand new site or renovating an old one, this guide is perfect for site owners, designers, developers, virtual assistants and anyone involved in running a website.
Please Note: While primarily intended as a guidebook for WordPress websites, this manual does cover the basics of running a general website.
Michelle Martello (AKA Smartello), my genius web designer, has had me saying "thank god I hired you" on a daily basis. If you're trying to put together your first website or redoing yours, get this. No doubt the 29 bucks will save you thousands in mistakes.
I am in the medical field and follow medical research very closely so have a brain that likes logical, A+B=C formats. I loved the organization of this book where each chapter had the expanded information, but handy checklists were available at the end. I am a paper person so will be printing out and binding this book for myself so that I can highlight critical areas, in other words, the entire book! I found all the information regarding plug-ins very useful as this has been one area of a website that previously confused me. I love the mindset that more is not better so "get rid of what you don't need." The other information that I found invaluable was all the specific information regarding why and how to back-up your website. This book has given me such a great framework. This book has solidified my confidence in myself that I can figure out how to do this myself rather than relying on someone else to build it. It was a wealth of information for an extremely reasonable price. I found it thorough, well organized, and I love that it is updated yearly!

The book was more detailed and organized than other similar guides I've purchased, which tried to be too cute and didn't focus on the important back-end stuff, just on silly stuff like fonts and colors. I also liked how you talked about Squarespace, since I've got one of those sites as well as a WP site, and am trying to learn more about that platform.
This guide is the most thorough, well-written treatment of this subject that I've seen (and I've purchased a lot of them)! It will indeed take you step by step through the process of building your site, while also making you appreciate just how much effort it takes to do it right. Love the design, photographs, and quotes too!
